Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu Journal is committed to following the best ethical practices and expects all parties to uphold the high standards of publication ethics as set out by the Commission on Publication Ethics (COPE).


Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief/Editor
To make independent evaluations of all articles submitted by contributors.
To ensure the appointment if suitable evaluators, based on background and academic specialization.
To ensure that the evaluation process is carried out suing a double blind review.
To obtain the views of the Editorial Board.
To make decisions concerning articles to be published as well as the time of publication.

Responsibilities of the Writer(s)
To ensure the article is recent, original, has not been previously published and is not being reviewed for publication elsewhere.
To ensure there is no element of plagiarism in the submitted article.
To ensure that all sources of excerpts and quotations are clearly and stated in their entirety.
To acknowledge all sources of any secondary data used in their entirety.
To ensure adherence to the format set by the publisher.

Responsibilities of the Reviewers
To review articles in an objective, fair and professional manner.
To inform the editor-in-chief/editor of any transgression of publication ethics detected in a submitted article.
To endure that articles reviewed are not plagiarised, and have not appeared elsewhere previously.
To ensure reviews are completed within the allocated time and to inform the editor-in-chief/editor if an extension is required to review any article.
Not to discuss an article under evaluation with any other party without permission.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
To contribute actively to the development of the journal.
To function as ambassadors of the journal.
To provide continued support and promote the journal.
To evaluate articles submitted for evaluation.

Conflict of Interest
Each author must declare the conflict of interest that may exist upon submission of manuscript to Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu. The conflict of interest might include the relationships between authors and editors, reviewers, copyeditors, editorial board, international editorial advisory board, or any other parties associated to the publication of articles in this journal. This is to prevent any potential influence or bias that may lead to publication misconduct. Conflict of interest may take in personal conflicts, commercial, academic or financial. Hence, all Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu members are expected to adhere to the publication ethics outlined.

Open Access
This is an open access journal which means all articles are freely available to read, share and download. In accordance to publication ethics and best practices of scholarly publishing, authors and journals must be properly credited.

License
Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu, published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, is an open access journal that applies the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) License and is subjected to the terms of conditions of this license.

Article Processing Charge (APC) Statements
Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu does not charge any article processing fee.

Language Policy
Most articles are published in Malay. English translations are given for titles, abstracts and keywords.

Copyright Policy
Upon acceptance of an article, Authors will be asked to transfer copyright. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. A notification will be sent to the corresponding Author confirming receipt of the manuscript.

If excerpts from other copyrighted works are included, the Author(s) must obtain written permission from the copyright owners and credit the source(s) in the article.

Journal Plagiarism Policy
Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized, and has not been published or being considered elsewhere. Works from other publications must be cited and clearly stated the source all sources of excerpts and quotations are clearly and stated in their entirety.

Article submitted to the Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu will be screened for plagiarism using IThenticate plagiarism detection software. Melayu: Jurnal Antarabangsa Dunia Melayu will immediately reject article leading to plagiarism or self-plagiarism above 25%. The editor may confer with editorial board when making this decision.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
