Proses morfologi bahasa Melayu: satu penelitian semula
Abstract
Published materials on the morphological processes of bahasa Melayu (BM) such as Za'ba (1965) by implication, Abdullah Hassan (1974, 1986) and Nik Safiah et al. (1989, 1993) indicate that BM has three morphological processes, namely affixation, reduplication and com-pounding. Other than these three processes, Asmah (1986) has ex-tended the morphological processes of BM to include integrating and accronimizing. Hence by implication according to her there are more than three morphological processes in BM Reexamining the data of modern BM from various sources and using appropriate definition(s) of morphological processes from established morphological theories, we extend the morphological processes of BM to seven, namely affixation, reduplication, compounding, zero modification, blending, clip-ping and accronimizing.
